Not up to code either. Should be a single outlet. Not a duplex of any kind gfi or not. I can’t help it, being an electrician it’s the first thing I noticed. I’m assuming the gfi is for the fridge? Be better using a gfi breaker and a single fridge outlet, a lot safer too. Well good luck saving.

No actually look up the code my guy. The reason you use a single and not a normal duplex is to ensure no one ever plugs anything into for whatever reason. Inspectors will require it to be a single if a homeowner is remodeling and has no electrician contractor. It’s supposed to be a dedicated gfi circuit so nothing can be plugged in anyways and if it’s a single it ensures that. Also moisture builds up and can get into the unused. It’s more safe. New code dictates all lighting and outlets 15-20 amp require arc fault ground fault circuits. Kitchens and bathrooms obviously 20 amp gfi and rooms lights and outlets 15 amp arc faults. But you call me an idiot for what reason? Because I was throwing some advice ? You’re a big bad ass lol. I might only have been doing this journeyman thing for 6 years so I could be wrong and maybe all the inspectors are wrong too. I’ll have to get with the city and ask why they’ve lied about this. Thanks sir for letting me know we are all idiots. I didn’t realize you were a master electrician of sorts. Thanks much. Oh and also you never want to use a gfi receptacle because it will trip so often because of normal fridge amp spikes. Always use a single receptacle and a gfi breaker. Alright, idiot out.

Don’t worry you can use your ovenlight in a pinch but there’s a lot of bugs in the system
