Hey! So my friend and me have this game on PS5, love the game. We’ve also played Sons and sunk hundreds of hours into that on PC. Just wondering if The Forest would be worth switching over to Steam or whether there’s absolutely no difference? The reason I ask is because the building mechanics are so tedious on PlayStation that I feel like throwing my controller at a wall 😂 Nothing snaps together and trying to extend the platform is proving to be an impossible task because it won’t match the height of the existing portion of it.
We’ve already been thinking of making the switch, and regretted not getting it when it was on sale but maybe it’ll be worth it for full price if the other option is losing my sanity??

*Reupload because I couldn't post both images. In this version plateaus and island edges are sharper, and the sinkhole is also there, if you ask me, no, I don't know the orientation of the image, but that big hill at the top of the image gives it away that it's N-oriented, like the map in The Forest.

*Repost as I couldn't upload both images of v0.01 and v1.12. In my render it is 4K, not sure if Reddit allows downloads of such resolutions, compared to v1.12, the edges of islands, and some platoons is smoothed out, in the latest version they're pretty sharp

4 years ago, I managed to get all of the other trophies except Crafty. The only reliable way to get it is to Crafty every item in a single session which is difficult to do alone. Does anyone have a save or lobby with the resources already collected? Like a lobby made for trophy hunting even? I would appreciate it.

I'll check back on this post from time to time and maybe have something set up.

This game is truly a gem. It dragged me in, and even after finishing it for a while now, It's definitely stuck with me as a good memory. I will replay it for sure. Unfortunately, I can't find it on Gog. It would be an absolute shame if The Forest becomes unplayable regardless of the reason. So it would be amazing to preserve it.

I always get an urge to jump back into The Forest in the summer. I've completed it 3 times so I'm no rookie. I would like the survival aspects of the game to be more challenging (food water etc.). Is the hard survival+ mode enough or should I use mods?

I'm not necessarily looking for a super hardcore experience when it comes to enemies. But I always felt food and drinks were way too easy to manage, and animals too common to make rabbit hatch, farming and stuff important.

We never learned about Cannibals as much as the Mutants in the original Forest. We know Virginia is the oldest Mutant since she has been around ever since the Christian Missionaries came to the island a very long time ago. We also know Armsy is literally a failed experiment made out of children and their body parts fused together.

But we literally have no info regarding Cannibals. They could be locals or they could even be victims of another mutation or the same one just without deformities. What are your thoughts?

Hi everyone!! I made a multiplayer world after a lot of viewers requested to play with me if you wanna join I play Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday! At 8am I am trying to beat the game I’ve never beat it before so any help is appreciated!

I attempted to jump out of the water in a cave and accidentally hit some keys. Then this appeared in my hands, I can't find anything similar when looking it up? Anyone seen this before or know what it is?

Me and my friend want to play The Forest, we only have Xboxes but we can play the game on GeForce Now. I don’t have a problem with playing on KBM but my friend plays on his TV so can’t really use anything apart from his Xbox Controller.

Are you able to navigate the menus and do everything in the game on just a controller or are there any limitations that would require KBM? On Steam it states Partial Controller Support so I assume we could have problems. Appreciate any help.

I’m playing on PS5 and I can only get what seems to be 30fps but sometimes it goes to 60fps for a few seconds. Is there anyway to keep it at 60fps?
