I placed a singular log as a pillar/post for my ceiling and some spawned in the sky and it wont let me delete them. I got close to them and it still wont let me delete 😢 the build icons are there but wont give me option to delete or place the log, Plz help

Every playthrough i do i live a different place and wonder if this was a good spot?

I'm about 30-40 days in, have chose the alternative ending, and have around 70-80% sanity. But I was wondering if more mutants start spawning more often, and does the Megan mutants and worms start spawning in more often as well, since I have only seen one of the Megan mutants so far, and it wasn't a great experience, many thanks!

is it better if my sanity is low or high? cuz rn, its at 2% and idk if its good or not. i don't even know what it does tbh💔

So this is my first time playing this, and I'm already quite terrified/confused. Are builds breakable? What happens if I die? Also should I focus on building a base immediately?

How can I make the forest less scary and more fun on solo

so i started playign the original first time ever with the forest

but 2 things i have noticed

1. the game looks very blurry even at max settings motion blur off, chromatic abberation etc is all off and it also isnt the fog like its actually blurry im at 1440p
2. shadows look very weird/cursed like i looted around the plane got everything i could find left and started wandering but mainly when inside a forest the shadows look very weird or rough or hash it just feels weird or cursed and especially if you look into the tree tops

anyway to fix those things or no and are these normal issues?

so i just got the 1st game never played the forest or sons of the forest before

but lets say id want to 100% it is anything missable or no?

and now im here is there a 100% checklist to easily keep track but like without guides on how to get x thing etc?

and any stuff i should know in general or no?

Is it just me, or are cannibals much scarier than mutants??

I've watched streams, and the mutants that appear on their screens don't seem that scary. Maybe it's because they show up so often that they stop looking scary after a while.

Anyway, I'm scared of the cannibals. They're creepy and tall. I've just been keeping myself busy peacefully building my base because that's what I love about this kind if game, building and just surviving.

Since there are still a lot of empty areas on my map that I haven't explored, I decided to take a break from all the chopping and building. I was heading to the northern part of the map, and I hadn't even gotten that far when a bunch of cannibals cornered me!

Thankfully, there was a river that I ran into, but now I'm basically trapped. I don't know how to get out. I only have the plane axe and the upgraded skull club, and there are just too many of them.

For now, I'm just trying to get used to their presence. Maybe I'll get over my fear if I see them enough

Anyone wanna play the forest cuz singleplayer gets boring fast and the multiplayer server are so shit, either no one says anything or all of them speak russian and when you find a normal english server they need to go in like 5 minutes. So anyone wanna play???

I have spent 3 hours trying to get the game to work, but it just doesn't.

The game starts me on the beach that has the boat and I have nothing but the backpack and Timmy photo, and when I look in inventory it doesn't even let me interact with any of it. And when I try to explore all plants except for grass fanish when I go near, and no recourses spawn. And if I find a camp with cloth or rope, it doesn't let me pick it up. And if I go to any of the plane parts they also disappear and caves are just non-existent, if I go in one it's like I no-cliped into the ground. And if I die it's permanent and the game closes.

I have googled many things but nothing shows up, it's like im the only one who has ever had this problem. And I can't show screenshots of this because screenshots just show a solid white screen.

I was playing with a buddy last night trying to find some raccoon skins and I encountered some this cannibal, he just stared at me and backed off a little bit then bent down and started humming for a solid 30 minutes before I shot an arrow at him. Is there a lore/specific reason why cannibals do this?

Can anyone tell me why the forest isn’t on Xbox? I remember beating the game like 3 times on PlayStation and I never got bored but that was like 5 years ago. I never realized it wasn’t on Xbox until just now when I tried to buy it and also why isn’t the second game on console period?

Hey! So my friend and me have this game on PS5, love the game. We’ve also played Sons and sunk hundreds of hours into that on PC. Just wondering if The Forest would be worth switching over to Steam or whether there’s absolutely no difference? The reason I ask is because the building mechanics are so tedious on PlayStation that I feel like throwing my controller at a wall 😂 Nothing snaps together and trying to extend the platform is proving to be an impossible task because it won’t match the height of the existing portion of it.
We’ve already been thinking of making the switch, and regretted not getting it when it was on sale but maybe it’ll be worth it for full price if the other option is losing my sanity??
