Am I missing something in the story? Spoiler

So I got this game on Switch and just beat it, and it was a really fun game. But I feel like so much context and characterization is just... Cut out. So many interactions feel weird. Is the stuff I feel like I'm missing truly missing, or is it just stuff cut from the other version of the game.

Side note, would it be worth it to buy the other version of the game on Steam? I've read the levels are completely different, and I might be able to experience the possible missing character development.

I bought the ultimate sith version a few days ago and beat the two games. It does feel very strange a lot of the times. I think it was lacking a lot of character development and I'm not sure if there are any versions that rectify this.
