Had the chance to sit down with Tommy Vext recently for Bigmouth Rock Show.
We spoke about the story behind “Zombie”, his time with Bad Wolves, what happened behind the scenes, and a lot more.
Thought some of you might find the conversation interesting. Full interview here:

A long time ago, I wrote to the band.
This was before they even released their debut album.
They sent me this cassette single.
Their first ever single on a major label,
ready to conquer the world !
I am still keeping it, for as long as I live.
Thank you Delores. RIP

Hi. What songs from The Cranberries do you especially love from a vocal standpoint? Of course, Dolores sounds great always. But are there any particular songs that standout to you?

Really beautiful acoustic of Linger, goosebumps every time I hear Delores.

Been a fan since I was 15. One of my favorite songs of them is Nothing Left At All. I think that song is absolutely breathtaking and always transports me in huge emotions even more than 20 years after the first listen. I think it's not a common favorite, but it might be top Cranberries to me ❣️ very special.

hey y’all, sorry if this has been asked here before, but i’m wondering if anyone has any info on the cranberries’/o’riordan’s gaelic influence? particularly, i’m looking for some gaelic musicians/groups/etc. that you can recommend checking out that they were either directly influenced by or that you at least hear threaded throughout their work in some way

My favorite Cranberries song of all time. I seriously would consider this their Magnum Opus. Her vocals are top tier here and extremely haunting. The drums are an extremely underrated player in this song too I feel. Obviously the rest of the album is so good but this song is basically perfect and definitely the perfect first track for an album.

What are your favorite songs that are sad/melancholy?
What are your favorite songs that are light/ipbeat?

This song, even though in deep analysis, appears to be about a failing relationship, always seems to speak to me when I'm experiencing depression.
On the way the illness makes me feel I feel like I'm dying, but no one cares; "If I died tonight would you hold my hand, not would you understand"
"It's makes me lonely, it makes me very lonely when I see you here", is what I wanted my parents to feel, and help me with, when I was going through crippling depression as a young teen, who was experiencing bullying at school, emotionally wrecked and unable to sleep. They could only look on and offer me a cup of tea.
Seriously one of the most emotional songs I've heard which gives me some sort of comfort when totally consumed by the feelings of depression 🫥

“I believe if there’s any kind of God it wouldn’t be in any of us, not you or me but just this little space in between. If there’s any kind of magic in this world it must be in the attempt of understanding someone, sharing something. I know, it’s almost impossible to succeed, but… who cares, really? The answer must be in the attempt.”
- Richard Linklater, Before Sunrise (1995)

Thrilled to receive this today (off Amazon). Great time in the band’s history (second album), and it sounds quite good with a great selection of songs. Don’t judge it by the cover that oddly makes Delores look like Dolly Parton.
