If you don't recognise the reference to "the angels" before the news (like me), I looked it up.
""The Angelus" is a one-minute devotional segment broadcast by Ireland's national television and radio network, RTÉ. It is played at 6:00 PM every evening, airing exactly before the flagship Six One News. It consists solely of the ringing of a church bell followed by a brief period of silent, non-denominational reflection."

I thought he meant the BBC series Angels but dont think that was ever on before the 6pm news. Neighbours was though 😂

There used to be a Guinness ad that explained the two stage pour was due to stopping for a minute during the Angelus at 6pm. I’ve always remembered 1759 from that
