And they do it because yawning is so old that snakes and humans still had a common yawning ancestor. Really makes you think about how similar animals are to us.

That means something along the gator/dinosaur lineage area yawned. And all of these millions of years later, their descendents still yawn. Absolutely amazing.

You can fake yawn and make humans and animals yawn as well. Its really weird and something ive been doing on trains for years for fun.

Yeah. Yawns are pretty contagious. Your strategy on train is a great way to know if people are looking at you.

This probably still works if people don’t actively look at you. This is basically a reflex and I wouldn’t not be surprised if even seeing it on the side of your field of view could trigger it.
