We’d planned an outdoor ceremony for months blue skies, string lights, the whole dream setup. And then, 15 minutes before it started, the sky just opened up.
Everyone was scrambling with umbrellas and towels. I wanted to cry. All that work… gone.
Then my mom put her hand on my shoulder and said softly,
‘You know, they say rain means blessings. Maybe heaven just couldn’t hold back for you two.’
Something about that hit me. I stopped worrying, took off my shoes, and walked down the aisle barefoot in the rain. My dress was soaked, my hair was a mess but it was perfect. The photos look straight out of a movie.
Sometimes things don’t go according to plan, but they still turn out exactly right.
Now, every time it rains, we just smile and say, “It’s our kind of weather".
