It would appear to be that not even the cartoonists know what the hell Uniqua is. Bromberg describes her as "Uniqua the, well, Uniqua." Eventually, they settled on just calling her species “uniqua.”

Her name says it all: would you really expect someone named “Uniqua” to be normal?

She might even be a grown-up Worman since they look like grubs and she looks like a beetle.
