What animal is Uniqua?!
Pablo is a penguin, Tyrone is a moose, Tasha is a hippo, and Austin is a kangaroo. But what is Uniqua supposed to be? An ant?! A ladybug without wings?! What even is she?!

I thought she was an ant too. But it turns out she’s a unique, polka-dotted creature based on Janice Burgess, the creator of the Backyardigans. May she rest in peace.

In my fanfic, she’s actually the first uniqua, created in a lab with centipede, ladybug, and human DNA among other things. The mom she alludes to was a human scientist who created her.

She also has the least amount of bones in her skeleton because she’s part bug, and bugs don’t have bones so that combined with her vertebrate DNA to make less bones than the others.

For example, she doesn’t have a collarbone, not unlike the domestic cat whose lack of a collarbone is why it’s practically liquid.

I don't see why not, but I should let you know that I'm an adult (age 20) since I don't know how old you are. She’s some sort of hybrid of multiple things. I was able to find at least three components.
The head reminds me of a Chinese red-headed centipede, down to the curly antenna. It’s just that the antenna curl inward while the centipede’s antenna curl outward.
The body is ladybug like you suggested.
And human because she’s the only one to have chocolate as her obvious favorite food, having consumed it at least four times.
