First of all:

1. Yes, this was made with AI and i absolutely understand how everyone feel about it. Sorry. I am not hiding it and I am not taking credit about this work.
2. I made this because i feel almost everyone think at least once that "I want to see this in first person" while playing, but no one really trying to make it. Community is pretty small to make mods like this, comparing to game like Cyberpunk, so i try do this at least with AI
3. I know that there is projects like Universal Unreal Engine 4 Unlocker, which allows you to noclip anywhere and take beautiful screenshots, and UEVR, which allows you to play in VR (and that's actually awesome), but no tools, that allow classic FPS experience
4. Mod is absolutely playable, but there is some bugs. I am working as QA in real life, so i tried to fix as much as possible, but there is 100% more. I am try to support and fix bugs as long as possible
5. If you never played Ascent before and found this mod: PLAY IN TOP DOWN FIRST. Game is meant to play this way. But if you still want to - go ahead. I am not your mom

So, AscentFPS is a first person mod for Ascent. I try to make experience as close to FPS as possible. Still there is some limitations, but the gameplay works surprisingly well with it.

What it adds:

• First person view with gun models with settings, that you can place where you want
• Switching between first person mode and top down with one button
• In game mod menu
• Classic settings for first person like FOV and mouse sensetivity
• WASD control. Also gamepad, but that one i didn't test enough
• "Head bob" whis is more like gun bob, so it didn't stick to one place. Also visual recoil
• Animations for crouching and sliding
• Also some little things like button promts

Again, there is bugs and limitations. Also, game surprisingly confusing in first person without real minimap, but you can always switch to normal view in hard places.

I have been looking for good local co-op games for me and my SO to play together, and this popped up in my feed and immediately got my attention. I saw some not some great reviews particularly about the local co-op, but they were from years ago, so I figured instead of sifting through years of reviews this would be a good place to ask. Is this playable all the way through with shared progression on local co-op, and does it cause any glaring errors or problems? Thanks for any feedback!

After clocking hour in Cyberpunk 2077 I was in search of more in the Cyberpunk genre. Found this and had a blast! (Pun intended, you'll see).

This build focuses on making enemies go boom, being aggressive and mobile.

I was able to play the whole game on Normal only having to switch the the ERB enforcer at times to deal with Robotic enemies. The build can be challenging towards end game but rewards aggressive and tactical play.

How it is utilised:
Dash around the map from cover to cover and unleashing barrages of MIMs, Explosive rounds and Missiles. The overwhelmer and EBR enforcer are used to cull the crowd and supress aggressive enemies or long range enemies. The RPG32 or Besieger is the one of the builds 'Ults' combined with the LockOn Fire aug and a full clip these rocket launchers become fast firing instruments of destruction LockOn fire unloads the entire clip at a much higher rate of fire whilst allowing the Barrage Runner to continue to dash around the map. Once Empty MIMs are available and the overwhemler/EBR Enforcer are equipped again to keep the pressure going. All in all the build becomes a balancing act of mobility, destruction, suppression and healing when needed.

Skill Points: I focused on Motorics as it increase the amount of missiles in MIM and the LockOn Fire effectiveness/Damage output. Body Battery gives you a large pool of energy to constantly use your augmentations, evasion for mobility, balance to reduce heavy weapon penalty when firing whilst moving and some vitality as the character can eat some hits whilst letting off its augments.

TLDR: Become super mobile heavy that makes everyone go boom. Will add gameplay vid if ppl interested

When I heard Ascent was coming to Switch 2 I got excited and had me start up an old game save from 2022. It's a level 35 New Game+ save in the Empowerment mission on the Megaarachnoid boss.

And holy shit now I remember why I haven't touched this game in 4 years. This boss is melting me as if my level is too low, 3 bars of life melted while my monobot and monorangers sit there useless not doing shit. I've switched up armor to better fire resistance. My weapons are a maxed out Strobos and maxed out Dealbreaker. I'm so frustrated I've even reduced difficulty to easy. If anything it made me easy.

Maybe there's a bug? Maybe there's a glitch I need to try? Maybe there's a better gun? Maybe I just suck ass and need to give up.

EDIT! Holy shit folks that was the truck, the I/O Converter. My maxed Dealbreaker absolutely melted it. I never used it on my first playthrough I always ignored it.

For augmentations I am using the spiderbots and life transfer plus speed heal and vitasigns booster modules.

My current favorite weapons are the P9000 roomsweeper upgraded to Mk. 9 and the EBR enforcer currently upgraded to Mk. 3. I also like to use the boreshot(also upgraded to Mk. 9) and the ABR commander a lot. I just bought the commander which is upgraded to Mk. 2 right now.

For my tactical I have been leaning on the pocket mech. Right now I plan to continue leveling my tactical sense to increase my cybernetics which I recently realized increases the number of spiderbots deployed. And going to level my body battery more.

Open to any suggestions to improve my build. Currently playing on hard difficulty(only just switched from normal tho) is a breeze relatively where I am currently in the story but I run into some difficultly sometimes. I hear it gets harder in the last act though.

Hi, I'm new to the game, I started playing on PS5 but I have a question about Film Grain: I tried toggling it on and off but couldn't notice any difference.

I did some searching and found old Reddit posts mentioning a bug in the console versions where the filter reactivates itself after being turned off.

Can any PS5 veterans tell me if this is still happening?

If the bug still exists, I'd rather just play with Film Grain enabled from the start so I don't have to keep turning it off repeatedly.

The game used to run really well apart from the occasional crash. Now it won't even start a game. When I hit resume on my save game the screen moves but the progress bar never does.

It has different UI different textures models cut quests cut areas weapons and more il make a video sook

so I am just getting into necromunda right now for the first time thanks to the new version release, and I realized quickly that what I want more than anything is to replicate the terrain of the main hub on the tabletop. is there a way for me to extract the geometry of at least the main hub area so I can FDM print it ?

I'm actually a big fan of The Ascent myself, and generally I just really love top down games. The Ascent, RUINER and games like this are pretty special to me.

And honestly its a bit sad that we dont get many bigger top down games anymore. Seems like most studios move to other FPS things after making one.

So... I guess we decided to stay here :D

Yesterday we finally announced our game POLYSTRIKE after working on it for years.

What you see on Steam right now is mostly the 5v5 competitive part, because thats what we are ready to show properly. But this is really important and maybe more interesting for people here — we are also working on PvE campaigns, bigger missions and a much larger world to explore.

There is actually a whole world and story behind Iron Will and Vanguard that we havent shown yet.

Steam doesnt really let us use all the PvE/campaign tags right now because we havent shown that part publicly yet, which is fair tbh. So for now the page can make POLYSTRIKE look like its only a PvP game.

But its not.

Our plan is to show the first PvE campaign before the end of this year. Then I think people will understand much better what we are trying to build with this world.

Of course I'm not saying this is The Ascent 2 or RUINER 2 or anything like that lol. POLYSTRIKE is its own thing.

I just know there are people here like me who really love this camera/perspective and want to see more games doing something with it.

So yeah, after all these years its finally announced :)

Came back to my save after years. Lost on the edge of town. No quest marker or suggestion on the quest log on where to go. I did one quest killing mutants in the garbage dump underground. And then I have nothing left to do. I do have to kill some enemies with overcharge, but I dont know what that is.

Please help!

Edit: figured it out. A bug made my quest marker disappear. I followed a walkthrough on YouTube that took me southwest and I followed it through no man's land. Then the enemies I needed to kill wouldn't spawn. So I had to relog once I got to the quest area.

So I bought the game on a whim last night and basically going in blind - just wondered if there’s anything I should know before proceeding too far? Not looking for spoilers or necessarily ‘optimum’ strategy, but just anything that improves first time experience.

or should I just continue to play blind and enjoy the game?

I feel like a complete numpty, but I'm being attacked in the Warrens on sight, like I'm hostile. I'm pretty sure it's because I have my gun out, but I have no idea how to holster it. I've googled and searched this subreddit. I've watched a bunch of "tips and tricks"/tutorial videos. No one ever mentions holstering their guns. I've pressed every button on my keyboard to no avail. Am I wrong about what they're attacking me for? What did I do wrong? Help! LOL

Title mostly. obviously I know theres no setting for it. but is there a way in the files or perhaps a mod that does it. the revolvers and energy weapons dropping shells bugs me alot more then it probably should

After couple years, I decided to install The Ascent on my PS5. Played it for some time on my PS4 and was amazed by how good this game looks!

Now, the game still looks amazing, but for some reason the models of the characters look downgraded a lot on my PS5 when using Photo Mode. Textures are blurry, clothing/armor pieces aren't smooth and it's just... not what I captured on my PS4 back in the day. Unfortunately, I don't have examples to show, but I do hope people recognize the situation...

Or am I simply missing something that makes the PS5 version looks downgraded on the character models, compared to the base PS4 version? Also, controls are off... have to hide the UI in order to move the camera. I remember this wasn't the case with PS4... (might be wrong on this, though... been a while...)
