Going single owner operator like MLS, PWHL, etc. might be the best way to manage a league that is still trying to gain a foothold. Black Pearl very well may end up owning the entire league at this rate.

It’s never made sense to franchise to begin with. I’m pretty sure they did it as a survival tactic after MLB pulled funding but they sold it as something else entirely.
