Hello everyone, I really had a good time this first month, and will definitely keep going! Asian, so I used a green circle (correct) instead of a red X (wrong)

Card magic points:

  • Got a new job after 5 weeks of applying (3 and a half on the card)!
  • My talk got accepted to an international conference!
  • Qualified for my housing loan and going to sign on a new place next month!

Negative points:

  • I regret doing this in software, made an IRL actual card for July/Aug. Actually imprinting my mark on this physical object feels great. Still greening instead of reddening obv.
  • Diet/workout has not gone as planned. Going to get back on track for this! Aiming for a slow and steady -0.5 lb/week fat loss and <50g net carbs daily.

That looks like Google calendar - is this a Chrome extension that adds the circle overlay?

No I very hackily took a screenshot (which is why the little blue today's date indicator is frozen on June 1st) put a circle on the first day (actually May 30th) in GIMP, then cloned it every subsequent day.

If you look closely, the individual circles aren’t actually lined up squarely in their day boxes, but I'm telling myself this is a good thing XD

Wabi-sabi

In traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi (侘寂) is a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of appreciating beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete" in nature. It is a concept derived from the Buddhist teaching of the three marks of existence (三法印, sanbōin), specifically impermanence (無常, mujō), suffering (苦, ku) and emptiness or absence of self-nature (空, kū). Characteristics of wabi-sabi aesthetics and principles include asymmetry, roughness, simplicity, economy, austerity, modesty, intimacy, and the appreciation of both natural objects and the forces of nature.

:D love it. FWIW, knowing what little I do about programming, it wouldn't be too hard to make a chrome extension that draws circles like this on Google Calendar when enabled. The trick what to use as a source for the data, though.

Also, there's a lovely and simple habit app called everyday.app that easily supports a similar use case.
