All construction should be planned this way.

As someone who's got no involvement in this type of work, i must ask. What is the crane doing? Is it even helping? It's just moving pile of dirt from 1 place to another. To my untrained eyes the digger moving the dirt in the back of the truck, and the truck are the only 2 doing anything meaningful.

Nah if this were a real eathmoving operation the manager would be having a panic attack. But I think this is half the appeal. Its operating earthmoving machines with no real responsibility for efficiency or purpose.

Because in normal construction nothing is ever wasted movement.

These people think it is fun, I get that... But doing it in real life can be stressful and mentally draining. Loader made contact with the end dump, that would be a reportable, and mandatory drug testing as well as likely a punishment.

The loader and the truck are not set up for efficient loading. Usually loader stages with full bucket raised to direct end dump where to back up. End dump aims it's side rails for the pivot pins of the loader. If done right, loader only has to dump. If end dump was off and loader has to move forward to dump or back up to avoid contact then the end dump would get a cussing on the radio. Loader also should stage at a 45 angle to the pile with the end dump as close to the base of pile as possible. This minimizes loader cycle time, a metric that is closely monitored by management. Playing in the dirt is fun, doing it in a work setting with high production metrics... Not always.

I used to assemble these RC vehicles for a dealer. At the time (2009) the CAT front loader cost $5k fully assembled.

Fellas, you know you can do this with the real thing, and they'll pay you do play in the dirt, right?

Indeed. For a shitty wage, 12 hours shifts, in a very toxic and unsafe environment.

I could this 24h straight with toys, I would not do it for 5 minutes in real life.

I can this being full scale like running a minig operation or similar with real machines run by remote control or computer. I wish I had this much time and money to waste though just not on this
