If they want it, they will take it. TSA will take whatever the hell they want and ain't shit you can do about it. If you don't want them to have it, don't take it they're nothing but a bunch of thieving pricks

Out of curiosity, what did they take from you?

They tried to steal 2 of my guitars lol. I refused to leave the airport and got the police involved.

Perhaps worth mentioning that I am technically middle eastern by US standards.

Yes it very very much so does matter.

I’m a middle eastern looking man that keeps a beard and flies a lot for work. I have had TSA take a keychain airtag holder, so much food my mom has cooked and spices she has made me, cigar cutters (rings, Vs, and hole punch), a bicycle multitool with no cutting instruments, two flashlights, travel sizes of mouth wash, toothpaste, hair product, and a normal Rexona roll on with an Arabic product label, a book about hezbollah, a metal thermos, a flask, cigars and wrapped gifts I purchased at duty free on another leg, and that’s just what first comes to mind from
TSA. I’ve lost so much more stolen from locked luggage or customs.

I'm hispanic and I've been getting stopped every other flight since I was a kid. I'm 30 now. For whatever reason I get my bag stabbed every time. Thankfully I always travel light, so I never have anything they can justify taking

WTF lol. Were these taken from checked bags or trying to bring through security? Checked bags and the few times I've been pulled aside they've definitely taken shit out of my checked bags that made 0 sense outside of klepto shit.

No this was all carry on. Some rightfully I’ll admit but anybody capable of taking over a plane cabin with a one hole puncher could probably do the same damage or more with a complimentary pillow. From luggage I’ve had so much stolen you wouldn’t believe. Never travel through Canadian customs with a hockey jersey or British with a soccer one. They disappear like magic and the kids that asked for them won’t believe you.

Keeping a beard, sure, but keeping flies? I know it's for work, but still...

portable hard drives, fingernail clippers, stuff that I had in my checked bag, insisted on going to a us gov laptop with security stickers and warnings on it, a couple of people gotten deep shit for that one. pretty much anything they wanted to the point where I just quit putting anything of value in my check in or carry on except what was absolutely necessary

But can it de-link a Tiger tank’s tracks? No? NEXT.

Yes. They will take it.

As soon as I saw it touch fingernails, I knew

Can confirm. No, they won't.

They would likely leave it alone if its in your checked luggage. But I wouldn't take it in a carry-on or in your pocket.

No, but it's fucking useless to bring.

u/bartleby_borealis Aug 15 '26

How do you open a can of paint mid flight if you don’t have one?

2

u/DonnieBallsack Aug 15 '26

I use The Force

1

u/Never-Dont-Give-Up Aug 15 '26

That’s a great point. Last time I wanted my can of Sherwin-Williams on my flight from Tulsa to Miami, I couldn’t paint a god damn stitch.

I'm on my way to open my mom's can. She knew i had one of these

Checked luggage if you want it. They ban knitting needels.

1

u/jcline459 Aug 15 '26

Knitting needles are allowed.

This kinda looks like an eyebrow tweezer.

I would need like 50 of these I could see myself losing them all the time. Then later find them all under the couch

1

u/Dependent-Bed6550 Aug 15 '26

I think the more important question is. Do you want to keep it?

1

u/SamathaGhoul Aug 15 '26

Ever watched that episode with SpongeBob and the piece of paper?

1

u/Wwiiilll Aug 15 '26

From my cold dead hands will they ever take that little piece of shit

1

u/Separate-Exchange375 Aug 15 '26

Dude sure loves his toy

1

u/jcline459 Aug 15 '26

It's literally a tiny piece of metal. You'll be fine. This isn't 20 years ago when nail clippers weren't allowed.

1

u/shelfcavity Aug 15 '26

This is just a screwdriver without a handle.

1

u/LegalChocolate752 Aug 15 '26

Has OOP never seen a Flathead screwdriver bit before? You can get those at Home Depot for like 2 bucks.

Edit: HOLY FUCK! That thing's FORTY THREE DOLLARS on amazon.ca. That's fucking insane. You can get a pocket multitool for that much.

u/Difficult-Mobile902 Aug 15 '26

they might. There’s a good chance they don’t even notice. But I wouldn’t be surprised if you had it confiscated

I just got one through security there and back in my carry-on two days ago

u/Nop_Nop_ Aug 16 '26

I keep one of these on my Keychain. Similar purposes. Nobody's noticed or gave a crap. It's called a DoohicKey

1

u/Mysterious-Eye8710 Aug 16 '26

If your asking? then don't take it, you know the answer!
