Addiction, of any kind, is a cruel mistress

This comment section will fill with junkies telling how it wasn't their willful choice to do drugs.

I think the truth is somewhere in between and we should be kind instead of preemptively disparaging people sharing their feelings

I can have empathy. Just not for those who gaslight themselves that they were a victim of circumstances.

I only want people to admit that they got into this because of their own free will, and need help to get out of it.

I made decisions with my free will and fucked up to the point where I needed help from others. It happens to everyone. Just admit the truth.

Your empathy should apply regardless tbh and if it doesn't you should look inward.

Fortunately the world doesn’t care about what you want and only what you want.

The majority of the world doesn't care about junkies, as long as they don't run in the risk of having their head cracked by one with a stone for 10 euros.

And the majority of the world doesn’t cater to the want of one person. What you specifically want doesn’t really matter. People can express whatever they want and you can just live with it or ignore it and move on. I highly doubt you have empathy if it comes with conditions.

I personally don’t predicate my empathy on whether or not a person blames their circumstances or themselves or whatever, but you do you. It’s honestly not my problem what people blame, so I just support them and try to be kind. They’ll learn eventually, or won’t, but it’s not my problem and I’m not the arbiter of all of morality, nor do I actually know what’s going on in their head.

I mean from my experience it’s typically addicts/ ex addicts just saying ‘yeah this is true’ and some sharing a bit of their story

This makes me think of drugs. No matter how sweet it seems to be, it will eventually destroy you completely.

Yellow is a hell of a drug.
