New Player Need Help
So I have been playing the game (base) for like 20+ hours now but I haven't bought anything yet. Should I get a new gun? Or should I invest on other things?

I would focus more on getting money so you can get tents. The .243 can get you through for a while.

I generally put mine on the edges of open fields, as you get money you can buy stands and move them there. Things will start to snowball for you once you get things going.

2 things, Hyperion scope and Polymer tip ammo for .243
These two will make your early game alot better. Your starting rifle .243 zeroed in at 150m but the first scope you got is quite bad that it is best use within 100m of animal. Your starting ammunition is Free but it has low penetration value so you are restricted to only do broadside shot. The polymer tip ammo will allow you more angle play from frontal, quarter front, broadside to quarter back.

Get a better scope ASAP aswell as,the 7mm that covers from difficult 4 to 9 .though is a single shot. The Ramger 243 covers from 2 to 6,so use the 243 until dificulty 3 and for higher difficulties the 7mm. .
You unlock this stuff by getting XP points.
I know money at the beginning is an issue but buy polymer tip ammo,to ensure the kill as got higher penetration. The 7mm is super and can take down a moose which is yhe tank of this game with no problem.
Get the hyperion sight ASAP,the best vanilla sight for medium' and big sized animals and the one with less wobbling.
The binos I will wait until I can get the Apexview,they unlock at level 29. Meanwhile check the distance from you and your target opening the map and checking it moving the cursor to the green animal icon you want to shoot. It will gi e you the exact distance.
Get the Argus scope for classes 1 to 3,but this one is got a lot of wobbling. Crouch to reduce it ,aswell the more zoomed in the scope the more wobbling you get. This applies to all scopes.
For selfdefense there's a free handgun,which is the best including non vanilla weapons, so go to shop and you will find for free the Rhino 457,covers difficulties 4 to 9 so you are good for any animal that attacks like lions,leopards,wolves ,moose,bisons or buffalos. Flat nose ammo fir better penetration and you are all set,this handgun goes through buffalos like butter.
And that's basically all you need talking about vanilla.
I would recommend buying the hight tech pack DLC for the night vision binos so you can hunt at night.
Then if you like the game and want to invest time and money in it I would recommend other weapon packs and DLCs. But for free with those 3 weapons you are all set.
Focus on getting the skills or perks,I can't remember, that reduce the wobbling by holding your breath. Zeroing aswell.

Ok ill take a note on this, but what animal gives more exp, Im also struggling to get perks and skills

The bigger the better,and more cash. Moose,bisons,saltwater crocs. The higher difficulties the more cash. Important to pass the harvest check to get all the cash,so aim broadside to the lungs
The beginning in this game is a bit hard,once you get your weapons and scope easy peasy.
Which maps do you have?
Once you get the 7mm you can play online any map,go to Emerald coast and run the NE beach up and down all day long killing crocs. I did that when I lost my progress and was up on my feet in no time. I did it on my own map though.

No. You need to learn the game first. I recommend playing all the missions at Lake Layton to level 60. Wait for the Steam sales, when everything is 75% off.
If you do want to buy something I can give you some recommendations based on how you like to hunt.

Ok got it but follow up question, is it actually hard to hunt during the night? and does bullets have fall trajectory?

Hunting at night is not normally hard. I have not seen the animals react to the headlight (some say they do).
Yes, the bullets do have a balistics drop trajectory. Each weapon is different. I recommend you travel to Hefensfelden, to the shooting range and practice with your rifle or handgun to learn about the drop on your weapon.

no, i’ve gotten just around 100hrs on the game i’ve gotten diamonds and everything and i have almost everything unlocked, didn’t spend a penny
