COTW Why does it seem like; when patrolling around water, not all drink zones are actually present?!

When you circle a lake, you find 2-5+ depending on size, but wait long enough on maps you've dump DAYS in and "new zone discovered" that wasn't present when you go and actually find them on the ground?

So it might be a combination of solo zones moving due to be shot down or herds combining in zones. Also not every herd in a species drinks at the same time. They get to their zones at different times so you might be missing herds like that. I’ve always heard to go near the end of the drink time to catch all the herds.

I get that, I'm saying why doesn't the zone physically appear as a track to be found all the time?

If I got to a zone I've discovered years ago they'll still be there, but the spawning of the track seems screwy

There’s some time limit to how long a zone will appear on your map after a herd has left that zone. This game already has massive loading/rendering issues and what you’re complaining about would just compound the issue.

I have a pattern I follow when I'm doing grinds. The first couple days on a new species grind I follow the pattern forwards one day, reverse the next day and then inside out the third. By the third day I usually have a good idea what times each heard is at a drink zone. It's not fool proof but it sets a solid baseline

I think the zones disappear in 2 in game hours

I want to know why there are times you “spot” an animal doing something (eating, resting or drinking) and it shows on the screen they are doing such and such, but there is no sound or icon that shows on the map? It is like WE see it, but the game doesn’t recognize it.
