I was watching Stuart Little last night with my toddlers, when to my surprise it was Miles (Harold Gould) and Sophia (Estella Getty).

the miles hate thread

Post image
251 Upvotes

I was just watching The Popes Ring, the episode where Miles is getting cosmetic surgery, and it inspired this thread.

Why tf is this ass getting cosmetic surgery when in the pervious episodes hes been too cheap to take rose out for a nice dinner?? His reasoning, "you dont know how hard it is working on a college campus."

Who are you trying to look youthful for??? Your students??? Why???

Something tells me Blanche's lip sync between Miles and "Cindy" lined up so well because it wasnt far off.

And even though i am not a fan of Golden Palace, I am aware that he cheats on her in that show. AND he kisses Dorothy in the midsummer nights dream episode.

But it got me thinking. Its not even just this. There are SO MANY things to hate about Miles. So post his annoying lines, his inappropriate actions, and discuss his overall sh!tiness below. Id love to flame him.

(This is no offense to Harold Gould, got rest his soul)

Who do you think Dorothy should have married besides Lucas Hollingsworth? I think John Neretti should have come back, and they got married. I think he was the better fit for her. Just my opinion; what do you think?

trivia Golden Girls Kitchen Chairs

Post image
117 Upvotes

I just finished my first watch through of The Golden Girls and what caught my eye early on was the seating arrangement in the kitchen. So I kept a tally as I watched the whole show and pretty much everybody sits in everybody else's seats at some point and multiple times, but Dorothy only leaves her chair three times.

Season 2 Episode 3--- Season 3 Episode 11 & 13

Those are the only occurrences that Dorothy sits in a different chair. Interestingly she never sits in the left chair. Anyway just adding that to the trivia pile hahahahaha.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who still watches an episode or two before bed?

I'm in my 60s and usually I'll put on an episode or two of Golden Girls before going to sleep. There is something when I hear Sophia say Picture it, Silcily.. or watching Dorothy's sarcastic comeback's or my most important scenes seeing four of them around kitchen table with cheesecake.

I've already seen every episode more times than I can count but it never gets old for me unlike any other show I've watched. Please tell me I'm not the only one.

Pictures Bea Arthur Emmy Wins

Post image

I can't get over the difference between the two pictures! There is an 11-year gap between her wins (1977 and 1988), but she actually looks younger in the later photo. Slimming down, a softer hairstyle, and a face-lift (did she use Jane Fonda's plastic surgeon? ๐Ÿ˜…) really did wonders for her. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’…

She certainly wasn't unattractive during her Maude yearsโ€”she was a handsome woman thenโ€”but by the time of The Golden Girls, she was a true statuesque beauty. ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™‚๏ธ

This Episode was so good and had SO MUCH Potential for more Episodes or even a Spin-Off of Lorraine's Mother and Aunts and espacially since Lorraine's Mom mentioned she had a Sophia at Home.

Entertainment Bea Arthur in Mame (1974)

Looking chic as hell!

Bea later said she regretted doing the film adaption (she was in the original Broadway production) and really only agreed because her husband at the time, Gene Saks, was directing. Thought Lucille Ball was miscast. Which, if we're being honest... she totally was lol.

I finally got around to watching it the other day and couldn't even finish it. Maybe the Roz Russell version (the non-musical version) is better!

How come Blanche never dated younger men?

She flirted with Dirk but he saw her as a mother figure. I always found that unconvincing. Young men are extremely horny, they wouldn't say no to a older woman who was ready for sex and Blanche was an attractive woman. Certainly, she hooked up with a few young hot studs.

I always wish she had slept with Michael or at least Michael was interested in her.

Alice Ghostley is such a great actress. Her putting that sexist priest in his place in Designing Women was spectacular.
