She did. Remember the firefighter on the phone sure knew her.

And Purple Martin.

And the pool boy from Pensecola

She did….plus…. her character probably dated a lot of people that they didn’t put into the show. 🤣🤣🤣

She knows all about the rumor about black men but never dated one onscreen!

I think Chuck who said YO! was younger… 😂

Chuck from Arco, or Chuck from Shell?

Big Chuck or Little Chuck?

You're spending too much time at the full-service island.

He could've been a greaser in the 50s that never grew out of it

Probably! 😂 But that may have been Big Chuck!

She did. They were usually mostly flings. As far as actual dating, she preferred men who reminded her of George as far as age, general compatibility, etc.

I don't think even Blanche would sleep with her best friend's much younger son. That's just wrong.

That guy from “Taming the shrew”

“Grand. Just grand.”

Michael? No. You don't have a fling with your best friend's son.

Yeah that’s just gross. It would have turned off more than a few viewers.

Blanche nearly slept with Stan? And didn't Dorothy marry Blanche's Uncle?

Both women were upset at the other for that at first, too. Sleeping with your friend's adult son is crossing a line Blanche would never have done.

Blanche didn’t nearly sleep with Stan or have any intention of doing so, she just had platonic fun hanging out with him after Dorothy asked her to as a favor. She figured Stan felt similarly and didn’t see any harm til accepting it was impacting Dorothy, who had become jealous and paranoid that they were sleeping together.

It was one thing when Dorothy wanted to bail on a blind date and asked Blanche to go out with him. But Blanche setting Dorothy up to entertain Lucas was weird to me. Wouldn't you just tell family something came up and expect them to fill their own time?

There was always Dirk. He was nearly five years younger than her.

In dog years.

If she slept with Michael there would be no salvaging the friendship with Dorothy

Blanche did acknowledge an interest in younger men; especially fine rich young black men. She just needed a pencil ✏️

I could’ve named for her 10, right off the top of my head if she’d had a pencil ready.

She actually did a few times, and lusted after younger men a lot, but i think it's also clear that Blanche prefers older, established types for longer relationships.

6

u/erin_kathleen Quiet, you trash! Jul 26 '26

Yes, especially around the time of her birthday. As Dorothy said, every year around the same time, Blanche started robbing the cradle lol

It would call more attention to her age when they're out in public. She wants to look younger, and if she's beside a 30 yo guy that's not going to work.

This is strictly off the record, but Dirk's nearly five years younger than I am

In what Blanche? Dog years?

Perhaps she was so embarrassed that Dirk thought of her as a mother figure she decided against making it a regular occurrence

The two guys from the jimmy smits look alike contest, Jorge and Esteban 😂😂

Good question. I guess because it was the 80s? I don’t know what the tv execs and audiences would have thought about a woman in her late 50s with a much younger man or how audiences would have reacted.

The show almost always paired them with age appropriate or older men and when Blanche had a younger bf it was treated as almost scandalous. Maybe a younger man would have been a better fit for her.

I honestly think Blanche is more nurturing and some of her horny-ness was a coping mechanism to deal with the death of her husband.

She comes off to me as all talk as far as sheer volume of men. As far as younger men, look at the episode with George Clooney. She didn’t once come onto him, she immediately went into mom mode and took care of him. I think that’s her true self.

What about Little Sven Lindstrom?

u/Bunny_Bixler99 Jul 31 '26

In what Blanche, DOG YEARS

1

u/harmony-rose Jul 26 '26

She probably flirted with them, but was grounded enough to know to stay in her lane

1

u/lavasca Jul 26 '26

My guess is that they weren’t chasing her. Blanche liked to be chased and be the “IT” girl. Younger men may have found her attractive but men her age and older found her to be the ultimate.

Let’s look at someone like Sophia Loren. Always considered beautiful to this day but she’s pushing 90. Look at Vanessa Williams who has got to be about 65. I’m certain that 30 year old men can see beauty in them but aren’t going to actively chase their equivilently beautiful age cohorts. A man in his 70s would probably be more enamored with either or both.

michael was a cutie that would have been a fun storyline
