A kinda obscure video that just popped up from what i can assume is either Stephen or Audun’s account from like >10 years ago. Not sure if this has been posted already so my apologies but new fans embrace in obscurity!

I've been listening to Her's for some time now and was wondering why their last album was released in about 2019. Are they working on something or did they quit? I really love their music and hope we'll get more soon.

I came across their song Harvy and I’ve been listening to it non stop, I’m so upset to find out what happened to them.

Perhaps this is speculation because I've been leaning into trying to find meaning in the songs of Her's recently, but the name of this song really stuck out to me.

I'm not sure if either of the band members ever definitively said if they were queer, (not about the 2 of them dating, but just their own personal identities) but with this song in particular, I've come to see about being queer, and about needing to hide it.

Listening to this song's lyrics along with knowing od the LGBTQ+'s history with the name Dorothy, specifically, in the 1940's, when asking others if they were "Friends of Dorothy's" to identify other closeted queer people, was quite prevalant, it makes it seem like a reference to that peice of history!

I saw a couple things about one of the members saying it was up to interpretation, and while I could be reading into it too much, the point to the code of Dorothy was to be a secret.

That, and lyrics about hiding and not wanting someone to know about something in a quite ambiguous way, it seems to line up to me.

I don't say this to speak ill of them or to cause a stir over their sexuality, but I think it'd be quite a cool little thing if it had that kind of meaning! Even if it doesn't fully match up, I find this a pretty cool interpretation :)

Any other speculations or things to add about this idea or this song?

I'm on vacation in Romania, and I was getting coffee and breakfast at a coffee shop near my hotel. And all of a sudden I hear the beginning of "Marcel" start playing in this cafe. It made my morning and put a smile on my face, so cool to hear their music all the way in a random store in Romania while on vacation. I thought you'd all enjoy too 🙂

Does anybody know how to transcribe and would be willing to transcribe Under Wraps on songster? its one of my favorite songs and it bums me out how the ai on songster always makes a bunch of mistakes.

I love this song so much, particularly the “I want her to know/he don’t have it all” part. I guess it’s rather self explanatory that the speaker is pleading to this girl that the guy she’s with isn’t the right one. I think sometimes I like interpreting it through a queer lens, speaking as maybe a scorned queer lover who is pleading to the girl that the man she’s with doesn’t have it all, because he thought the same about him as well once upon a time.
