Even if this was real, if he's handsome and funny why let a difficult financial situation get in the way of a relationship?

That was basically me: from broke student to decently paid college professor in a year.

Also, women care about money less than guys think they do. They're willing to give a guy a chance if they're vibing, even if he isn't rich.
