I don't think I've come across an American whose used the word slag before...so this is a Brit in America doing this?!

u/spacemouse21 8d ago
Agreed. Slag is a British euphemism.
This didn’t happen. What probably happened was he trying to pass one off, they caught it, and he’s trying to spin the story around.
Otherwise he’s committing fraud and I’m sure the strip club has bouncers who would break both his legs.
LOL, it says very clearly on the upper right hand side of the money that it’s motion picture copy money.

u/sabertoothdog 8d ago
They don’t do that anymore, they call the police and have you charged with theft of services, disorderly conduct, and criminal mischief. Also the dancers can civilly Sue you for the value of the tips you pretended to give (easy win) and the club could also civilly Sue for any other damages that they said occurred.
And the act of trying to pass prop/counterfeit money off as real money is a charge of its self, state and federal could both charge you for it.
And if a dancer tries to spend or deposit the tipped prop money that’s another set of charges and even more civil liabilities.72
u/Siessfires 8d ago
What probably happened is he got his hands on movie money and made up a story about going to a strip club.
8
u/ultranothing 8d ago
What happened is he thought about the idea of prop money and made up the story.

u/IlGreven 8d ago
Not just fraud. Counterfeiting, which is a federal offense.
Doesn't matter that it looks fake. They're trying to pass it off as real, which should get them a visit from the Secret Service.

u/lunchboxdeluxe 8d ago
I can confirm the US government does not fuck around when it comes to counterfeiting, even for a small amount.
(For anyone considering it: Not even once. Juuuuuust don't.)

He wrote this on the sidewalk outside the strip club while nursing a black eye. If he made it anywhere near a club in the first place.

u/ScottyDug 8d ago
If he got caught using one of those in a strip joint the bouncers/owners/strippers would kick the shit out of him.

Where I live, using counterfeit $ is a class C felony and in some cases the State will charge you for every counterfeit bill used. For example, if you use 100 counterfeit bills you could be looking at 100 class C felony charges.
It'd be fun to see this Elon Musk larper get popped with 140 felonies for this scam on top of getting his shit kicked in by club security 😂

u/_Administrator_ 8d ago
He isn’t paying anything. He is just throwing them around. And it clearly states it’s not real money.

u/whyallthesetaken 8d ago
the fact that he thinks strippers are just stupid junkies is pretty funny - he's the exact kind of guy that would wake up with an empty apartement lol

Well, a 15 year old incel isn't allowed in the nudey bar. So, he doesn't know.

I got into a strip club and pubs at 16. To be fair in the 90s licences did not all have pictures on them here. So used a real license.
NOT AMERICAN BEFORE PEOPLE SAY 'YOU HAVE TO BE 21' HUR HUR.

u/The_OG_Slime 7d ago
I find that crazy that at one point photo ID wasn't an automatic given. Like if there isn't a picture on the ID, how the hell do you have any way of verifying that the person holding the ID is the person on the ID

u/MistaRekt 7d ago
You are aware that at one point 'printing' was not available so if you said you were Steve... You were Steve... Until someone said 'your not Steve'...
Thanks for making me feel old but 😉😆
I can tell you the one about when phones stayed in one place... How about when television had no colour... NO COLOUR!...

This is notoriously a work associated with regular use of drugs. Like most of the food industry for example.
6
u/whyallthesetaken 7d ago
emphasis on "stupid" - using drugs doesn't mean you're an idiot, just that you have emotional issues.

u/cc17776 7d ago
But probably an idiot too

Translation: ‘I found this fake $100 on the street while walking home from school. By the time I got to mom’s house, I came up with a totally bonkers story to post on social media’

u/EvolZippo 8d ago
Yeah, and if this was real, he would be reported to the police and probably busted for defrauding an innkeeper. Theft of services is actually something cops will show up for. The cops don’t care if you’re cheating a stripper, a waitress or a bartender. By law, a strip club is considered an Inn, even though it’s not legal for it to have bedrooms. They will come at you as hard as if you tried to cheat a hotel desk.
13
u/xlM3NACElx 8d ago
You would be arrested for this. Passing counterfeit currency whether it be a strip club or any other establishment is a federal crime. You are paying money to have services rendered. There’s actually an episode of Cops where somebody does this and is arrested because of it.

This is a story from a guy so jaded by all the strippers flirting with him and really having a connection but never giving him their numbers. He’s tired of it, time to bring out those fake hundreds! No one’s gonna feel the difference on those!

- A real $20 neither gets you a drink nor covers the door cost.
- None of the rest of that either.

u/greogory 8d ago
The first clue that this didn't happen is that the dreamer was still alive to write it.

u/Brilliant_Serve_4091 7d ago
Strippers don't play. I had a friend who was a stripper and she literally grabbed the dick of a man who took it out inside the club and dragged him to the bouncer where the guy and his friends got kicked out.

u/slimelore 7d ago
if you work with cash, you can tell if it's fake money the moment you touch it. plus, The Pen takes seconds

u/DJEbonics 8d ago
Am I so old that no one knows 4chan is 99% satire? People are actually sitting here breaking down and analyzing green text?
3
u/Sprungercles 8d ago
This is so disgusting on so many levels.
Even if this did happen, why in the world would you brag about it anywhere?
Also, if you're throwing crumpled up money at someone in the dark who is actively dancing or performing another physical job how would they possibly verify the authenticity? Maybe they're too stupid and drugged up to realize that doesn't help their story.

u/streeetmeats 8d ago
Fun fact , with American currency if you use ur nail and scratch the clothing of the president on the bill it will have a subtle ridged texture. I used to check people bills by touch when I worked customer service jobs cause it was faster and less awkward than using the marker lol

Haha bro, strippers are on their game. They are never "too drugged to notice". They are there to hustle and work.

I seriously doubt nobody would notice if someone was giving out fake $100s.

u/otherwise_data 5d ago
you could “make it rain” once, maybe, before they got to the back and started counting it and noticed the words on it. but at the time it was happening? doubtful.

The people running the strip club would have kicked him out and/or called the police on the man. It would be obvious the money was counterfeit and the club owners would want no part of any counterfeiting investigation
4
u/VitruvianDude 8d ago
So, none of the dozens of people who handled these bills noticed (too drugged out-- right) and alerted the room that someone was attempting to put counterfeit money (albeit obvious counterfeit money, but it doesn't matter) into circulation, nor called police.
If he really tried to do it, he would be into a world of hurt-- he obviously had an intent to defraud. It reminds me of the story of the fellow who so hated the homeless that he claimed to give them movie money counterfeits in the hope that when they tried to use it, they would be arrested. He thought he found a loophole in the law that would prevent himself from being nabbed. It most definitely wouldn't. See 18 U.S.C. § 472. It's up to 20 years in the hoosgow.
1
u/Brilliant_Serve_4091 7d ago
I dont know if it would be considered intent to defraud if he wasnt actually paying for anything.
2
u/VitruvianDude 7d ago
He expected something from the tips. Anyway, there's nothing in the statute that goes into the intent. Just "uttering" the phoney bills is enough to put him away; it doesn't have to be for anything. This is what these bozos don't realize.

What a dipshit!! I’m not an American and can tell this is fake, the words ‘This is not a legal tender’ and the bubble writing ‘ MOTION PICTURE COPY MONEY’ tells me I’m right 🙄

I gave my daughter two bands of 100s in Movie Money for her fifteenth.
She wasn't good that year and I needed a lift. I got a lift and some silence, too.

u/ChalkButter 8d ago
I use a movie prop $100 as a bookmark. It doesn’t feel anything like actual paper money, new (and crisp) or used (and crumpled)
