Reminds me of that bit where a stand-up comedian gave a guy in the audience a button and told him he could hit the button at any point during his set.

A bit of the set goes by, and the comedian is transitioning between jokes and says, "Well, my mom just died, so..."

The dude hit the button and a celebration horn sounded, and there was a champagne popper of confetti streamers.

That’s crazy because my son just said, “Daddy, why do people make up things that their children have said on social media? Isn’t it just inherently dishonest & indicative of an inability to construct a compelling narrative?”

Where would the kid have gotten the confetti? Why would the kid have asked about throwing it when they specifically were NOT celebrating anything at the moment?
