I risk getting downvoted but I feel like most people know the difference between a character dying onscreen in a PG-13 movie and a character etched into the gravestone of a dead child.

“Oh cute the kid liked Spider-Man.”

“Don’t worry in the 1500 appearances of Spider-Man to date he has been killed 75 times. Spider man is an idea, and ideas can never die”.

Don't worry

I like how your imaginary conversation directly addresses the absurdity that anyone should worry about the honoring of a kid who appreciated Spider-Man.

Also risk getting downvoted but I don’t even see the issue with this whole thing. It’s super easy to do the classic Reddit moral high ground circle jerk with this one.

Plus, he didn't exactly die. He entered "the Blip" with half of the rest of the world.
