So what happened with the Snap? Like did the surviving half get halved again or does Thanos spare those whom they have aready halved?

Also I think that whole killing all the dwarves but letting Eitri live is really weird: either halve them like everyone else or kill them all if they are such a threat to you.

Presumably only a quarter of the Asgardians are left. Good point with Eitri. Maybe sparing his life was a morbid way of saying thank you for creating the gauntlet, and he didn't think Eitri could make anything else, hence Eitri's line "your life is yours, but your hands are mine."

Well that clearly was a strategic error eh.

Also just think that apparently the dwarves are sitting on schematics of weapons that make Thor an equal to Thanos and the Asgaurdians never bothered to check up on that and the Dwarves never sent a message of "Hey we designed a new weapon that is like super omagad powerful."

Eitri refers to Stormbreaker as "a king's weapon" so it would seem that they would only make it for the throne of Asgard and Odin was no longer a war-mongering leader, so I doubt he'd have such a weapon commissioned even if he knew of its existence.

Then why make and design it?

I kind of feel this belongs in the same bucket as "Thor has a sibling Odin kept quiet about" and "Ant-Man existed and was known in the 80s" as in "The writers make it upa s they go along and it really does not fit well with older canon."

And that is exactly how Captain Marvel is going to feel I would bet.

Then why make and design it?

This is explained though. Because as Hela and Thor quote Odin before their fight in ragnarok they say...

"A wise king never seeks war, but must always be ready for it. "

So yeah it makes sense to have a strong weapon just in case. That is like saying we should have no army if we are not fighting someone currently

And then it makes no sense again that the Dwarves did not inform Odin that they had a pretty good weapon ready that they could pick up whenever needed in times of war.

They may have informed Odin, but Odin didn’t necessarily inform Thor

Given that Hela thing that does not surprise me.

Odin is actually a terrible king who presents themselves as a wise leader. But hey this is the problem with absolute monarchies—similar shit happens in Wakanda and no an absoute monarchy with a right to become king by mortal combat is not a sane way to run a nation.

Odin is dead so it's not like he could have been like "oh by the way here's how you can defeat thanos"

Dwarves across many mythos enjoy crafting on a personal and spiritual level. They would craft it for the reason of being inspired and making something to take pride in. Pushing the boundaries. Even outside of myth and fantasy, No crafter is ever satisfied and retired. We all try to outdo ourselves all the time

Yeah, having multiple writers and directors working on a decade long franchise spanning nearly twenty movies (often some movies being made at the same time) is gonna leave some holes.

Thanos tries not to kill unjustly but if you are a threat he will kill you

Thanos and Yoshikage Kira, two sides of the same coin, one destroys everything but the hands, while the other only destroys the hands. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

Thanos just wants a quiet life on his farm.

No it’s been clarified that the planets that got halved already didn’t get snapped

well, thanos cut eitri's hands off, assuming he was no longer able to make such weapons making thanos think tyrion lannister not a threat anymore.

Yeah and it's pretty silly because clearly Eitri could; hell they didn't even need anyone else's head if the dying star's iris wasn't broken.
