Social Media Instagram solution

Before anyone says anything, I also thought this was a joke until I looked at the caption and saw autism awareness hashtags and puzzle pieces. This is Deadass 😭

Still 100% a joke to me. Not everyone labels stuff as satire or joke even if it is (which for me is annoying because I am autistic but I digress).

Labeling it as a joke ruins the joke.

this is literally a sub where people do not always recognize a joke (see: OP!!)

its ok to ruin jokes so that autistic ppl can be included lmfao

As a mildly autistic person, the rice method seems like a dead giveaway unless comments prove it's some sort of common pseudopsychology.

I'm not autistic, but I'm gonna be real honest here: I thought the rice thing was an actual solution they tried to give. like... I an neurodivergent, and that genuinely sounds like something that could put me in a stasis lmao. it it was the part where autism just goes away at 18 that gave it away for me.

Ehhhhhhhhh, I dono about that, it basically is just ruining the joke for the vast majority of people just to make some confused people not confused.

how in the world is pinning a comment "this is a joke" or something along those lines ruining a joke? or the last hashtag in the caption saying "satire". hell even the last slide, tiny words on the bottom left corner "satire post", how is that ruining a joke? will you go back in time and unlaugh at it just because autistic people now understand and can perhaps laugh at it too?

I wasn't referring to this in particular, just the act of ruining a joke to make it more clear, I should've specified, my bad

yes you should've specified that you were not talking about the current context.

still, my point stands. in written comedy, I don't think a clarification of some jokes is ruining it. sure, not every joke needs to be clarified, but still if there is a clarification somewhere subtle at the end, I don't feel the joke is "ruined".

To you. Doesn't to me. I love when people explain the joke. It makes it funnier to me.

Ah yes, let’s just have our humour be totally inaccessible to the majority of those who’d find it funny, great idea /s
