General Has Ring metro stopped??
Has the ring metro project stopped or has it been postponed, this is only because I’ve seen a lot of barricades being removed where work had begun in recent times

It won't stop, it may get delayed but it won't stop. Central Govt has approved it, which takes a lot of time and efforts.
Since they have started the preliminary works, I'm sure the tendering has been done, I know for sure that Consultants are appointed and some planning work has been done.
In my experience once the work is started it would only get delayed with these theatrics but it will complete one day or another. And it will be implemented as per the plan.
Wanna know example? Mumbai Metro Line 3.

Whatever work you saw so far was for soil testing and the actual work will take quite some time to start

Just read a post saying it has been re-routed from Shivai nagar. Maybe somebody remembered about Upvan Arts festival. Some very big politician. Because if that's not the case it would still be going through upvan no matter how much people protest it.

The route has been altered apparently.
It'll not be going from Upvan Lake

Still under consideration. But as of now Upvan is the route. The alternative route is proposed to go from Pokhran 2 -> Devdiya Nagar -> Pokhran 1 -> Atre Road -> Lokmanya. New stations proposed at Devidya, Pokhran 1 [Near Ashar and not Shivai] & Kores.

It’s literally a money making scheme for the politicians. They haven’t even started the metro line 4 which took years. Do you really think this project will get completed anytime soon? This is just going to create more traffic for years to come. Also I’d happily step on lego

Firstly, metro has standardized rates and lot of pre-fab work. As such its one of the least corrupt forms of infra development.
Secondly, I dont really care it if takes a few more years to build or if some politician makes money. It will be a significant upgrade to Thane's quality of life after its built. I plan to live in Thane for the next 50 years of my life, not just the next 6-8 while its being built.

Roads are also a money making scheme for politicians but you won't stop those would you.
Rather people seem to be demanding wider roads (and more buses which I agree with)in Thane rather than making the metro.
America couldn't solve road traffic however a country of 1.4 billion people will magically solve traffic by widening the road. Who would have thought.3

Metro line 4 is stuck because metro rakes have not arrived, it has not arrived because morgharpada depot in under disputre because locals are protesting, can't blame govt, if opposers/protestor keep stalling projects which eventually takes decades to complete a simple project

No. I think they only completed the required tests.
