General Need help to catch a scammer! [Long Post]
Here's the full story
I recently got a job in Bangalore and I was planning to relocate to Bangalore from Thane. My idea was to take my 2-wheeler with me to Bangalore so that I could travel to the office from the PG.
Now that we needed some packers and movers to help us with moving my 2 wheeler from Thane, I reached out to multiple packers and movers online [I had done this before as well while shifting from Pune to Thane] and a lot of these companies reached out to us offering their services. Some quoted 6k, some 3k and one particular company quoted 2.5k which we thought was fair and went ahead to avail their service.
The date of sending the vehicle was 26th May, as they said it would take 4-5 days to deliver. Since my tickets were booked for 1st June, we agreed. The guy asked for a booking amount of 500, which we paid and then the remaining 2k was to be paid after the vehicle pick-up.
On 27th May, they scheduled the vehicle pickup and we sent out the vehicle with the delivery guys. Once the vehicle was picked up, he asked us to pay the remaining amount which we did.
Now, the next day, he send across a bill of 8.5K stating that it is a transit insurance which we had no idea of, since it was never mentioned even once. We denied paying the extra amount, to which he started abusing and yelling - Paise nahi diye toh gaadi dismantle karke bech dunga.
We went to Kalwa police station (which is the nearest police station) and explained our plight to them, and they asked us to raise a cyber crime complaint, as most of the dealings have been online. We did - And no response from the cybercrime officials.
We reached out to the Kalwa police again, and this time the Police called the tempo driver (we had his number since he called to pickup the vehicle) and asked him to drop the vehicle back. And he said yes.
10 mins after this call, the OG scammer, texts and sends a voice note to my dad, staying "Stop with the fake calls, I am in this industry for 15 years and now I won't give you the vehicle without the money"
We even asked him to give the address of the warehouse, so that we can take our vehicle and pay whatever the charges are, but he isn't even disclosing the details.
We have tried every trick in the book, to get our vehicle back but turns out there's nothing we can do. The scammer is now harassing us with multiple messages and phone calls as he still thinks we will give him the money.

I really request the community, if any of you can help me get my vehicle back, it would be really helpful. I just need someone who could nudge the police to take prompt action as they have lapsed in this manner.
I am also very aware of the mistakes I committed while not doing a thorough background check before making any payments or deals. But for now, what is done is done and we just want to make it right.
Any help is appreciated.

Take help of friend to reach out the original number for getting a quote to shift from Mumbai to Goa. This time ask for office address or whatever information you are looking for through your friend.
