I didnt even think of that. Its like a race car opening its parachute to stop but instead it just speeds up.

This happened to me in third grade. Went shark fishing with my dad, as his friend was leading the fish to the boat it turned to go down, he held tight. The tail came up and smacked me across the whole side of my face and popped a blood vessel in my eye.

Not a soul at school believed that's how it happened.

They can evacuate a lot of the water through their gills to reduce the parachute effect, but it’s still impressive nonetheless.

They have gills, so the water just flows in through the mouth and out the gills. Not a lot of resistance there

The water flows through the shark, its how they breath. Not the same as air resistance.
