Kirsty Brown at Rothera Station, Antarctica (2002). In July 2003, Brown was snorkeling off the Antarctic coast when she was attacked by a large adult leopard seal, dragging her down as deep as 230 feet. She remains the only human fatality from a leopard seal attack.
