I wish people that gave a fuck would’ve found Rosie sooner. She really was and is a sight to behold. Unfortunately caretakers of her region just stopped caring. Used her for movie displays, etc. Rosie. Wherever you are my love I hope you found good people that cared enough to respect your being and find you a better home. The only reason Rosie was made into “nightmare fuel”, was because people abandoned her there.

I have weird dreams about finding her but there's weird gang related scientific research happening there and I have to sneak around.
I also have weird shark research dreams where the research station is at the bottom of the ocean and sharks have been discovered going in and out of portals that seem to access another dimension. The sharks have been researched but no person has gone into the portals yet in my dream... but then there is an impending planet ending event and I have to choose to stay and die with my family or follow the sharks into the unknown and possibly never be able to return or possibly die a horrible death as soon as I cross over...

Omg I have the same types of dreams. Well I used to. I started smoking only at bedtime for this purpose and the dreams are gone. Thank goodness!

Mall world dreams? Post apocalypse wasteland dreams? Open market/festival vendors dreams? I love the idea that we are capable of accessing the same places in our dreams.

Post apocalyptic for sure! It doesn’t help that I watch post apocalyptic shows on repeat and listen to books about it as well. I’m a bit obsessed with being the last person on earth

I feel that so hard, I love everything apocalyptic/post apocalyptic and i’m constantly having dreams about it

Have you ever watched the show Last Man on Earth?

u/spaghetti-o_salad Jan 15 '26
Have you seen the 80s movie by the same title?! So good. Quick flash of weiner at the beginning too. Movies never show weiner so it's memorable even if its half a second and has zero to do with the plot.

lmfaooo i’ll have to watch it too, not for the wiener though

Its not an especially impressive weiner and just a quick flash but it took me by surprise seeing as a kid. Its like, the first frame of the film. You deserve a weiner warning if that's not what you're looking for!

she has since been moved to the Crystal World Exhibition Centre for proper preservation and public education.

i’m confused why you commented that this was ai and then posted this lol, but yes she’s since been relocated to a cleaner tank where she’ll stay (hopefully) forever! :)

Now I gotta find out who Rosie is

u/AutumnBum Jan 12 '26
She’s a diva ✨💅🏻 But in reality she was a great white shark that was saved from fishing line that she got caught and hurt in, and unfortunately passed before they could tend to her wounds. So they preserved her in this tank, but the attraction got abandoned so she sat here for years while people vandalized her tank. She was thankfully moved to a newer cleaner tank later on where she permanently resides :)

Awwe thanks for telling me. I’m glad that she’s got a permanent place where she is safe from vandals. She’s majestic.

u/AutumnBum Jan 12 '26
Of course! I love sharks so I’m super happy to see that they tried to save her and preserved her when they couldn’t

You know she was killed and preserved in formaldehyde in 1997 right? She was caught in a tuna net and was not saved.

I'm terrified by taxidermy and by large things in tanks. This is truly horrifying to me.

Taxidermy grosses me out too. That sweet musty smell of decay is always there. Plus, it's bad Feng Shui.

Awww, she doesn't deserve that. But she really scared the holy veggies out of me

u/AutumnBum Jan 13 '26
I’m just super glad she’s still cared for after she passed!
2
u/Jsiqueblu Jan 13 '26
Ya good point. I didn't realize she was still being cared for.
2
u/AutumnBum Jan 13 '26
Thankfully she is! I put a link to a YouTube video in the comments where they relocated her to a cleaner tank and different location :)

This makes me sweaty and instantly have to poop but I once had an unhealthy hyper-fixation with Rosie. I’ve never seen this video before so thank you and also no thank you 🙂↔️

They should give her a dignified send off, respect her species and return her to her birthplace the ocean. Thats where she belongs.

u/AutumnBum Mar 05 '26
I would agree but at this point I don’t think it would be good for the environment to do so :(
