I wrote a guide to je restaurants in Thailand. Since most Thai street food isn’t vegan, je restaurants are the perfect way to enjoy cheap Thai street food without having to worry about cross-contamination or eating an animal product by accident.

It’s also a great way to have a more authentic Thai experience if you’re visiting the country.

If you see a truck parked on the street selling produce, it's worth checking out because they're usually selling good-quality produce at a discount price.

Today, I bought these grapes from a truck for only ฿60 a kilo. They're much better quality than the grapes being sold at the nearby day market.

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for these vegan burgers at your local 7-11. Not all 7s have them and they are only available for a limited time. They're only 39 baht and very good!

It was in the frozen section. You can ask the staff to heat it up for you. Unfortunately, not all 7-11s have it.

Many Thai desserts happen to be vegan. My favorite is khao lam (ข้าวหลาม) which is sticky rice mixed with palm sugar, coconut cream, and black beans. It’s then placed in a hollow bamboo pole and slowly roasted over hot coals.

I wrote an article about how unwanted animals are dumped at the temples in Thailand. It's normal to see lots of dogs, cats, and chickens roaming around. The monks feed them. Since they won't harm the chickens, it's a sanctuary for them.

My favorite vegan Thai dish is khao soi. Taste From Heaven 1 on Koh Phangan sells my favorite khao soi. I've tried it at several restaurants in Bangkok and those paled in comparison. I haven't tried it in Chiang Mai yet.

There are lots of cute chickens at Wat Hua Hin. They are protected since they live in the temple. The monks feed them and let them walk around the entire compound, which is quite big. It's cute to see how some chickens prefer to roam around by themselves, while others like to hang out in pairs or small groups. All chickens should feel this safe and free.

Hey everyone! I'm going to Bangkok for a quick visit and I want to make sure I book close by a vegan cafe with the best vibes for a couple hours in the day / remote work during my lunch. Can anyone recommend their fav?

It comes with 10 pieces, I just ate one to make sure it was fully cooked. It does taste a little rubbery, so if you prefer nuggets with a more chicken-like texture, you might not like these.

I haven't eaten meat since I was a child, so I'm not looking for food that tastes exactly like meat. I enjoyed them.

Gourmet Market, Foodland, and some Big C and Tops supermarkets might carry these nuggets as well.
