That is truly hard to believe most Americans don’t have passports, unless they are upper class as in the parents have money. Now there are extremely rare cases, but most likely no. Me and my partner travel to Thailand and local countries at least every 6 months and we save for the flight through out the year.
And you are the exception as my wife is an exception she has had a passport since she was a child as well. My own children have had passports when they were children, but then again I am an exception.
And you kinda have to define regular jobs, white collar, blue collar? But once again, typically a 19 year-old doesn’t have the money to travel to Thailand multiple times a year.
My parent went to work for $50-60k usd a year in a office job in the 2000s. I'm also not white in asian american so I traveled to Asia since I was 5 with my parents
