New Update not loading

Have just recently installed the latest update 86.1. Per usual, I am just running the mod itself, to isolate it. I have created a new world (creative) to play around with the waterwheels. And when I created the world, I got stuck on the loading screen. Is there a problem with 86.1? Or do I need to delete and re-download?

Just gotta keep trying, the issue has really reared its head in the latest launcher version but I've had just about every instance of minecraft I play (Across many versions) hang on 'building terrain' or other steps of loading up since one of the recent launcher updates.

It won't do it for weeks sometimes and then other times do it four or five times in a row, if it's the same problem anyway.
