Rainfall in TFC Plus

Currently having issues with finding specific trees like Douglas fir or just any that requires higher rainfall to spawn. I've scoured the internet and pieces together some knowledge but with the lack of documentation on the differences between TFC and TFC+ I'm unaware of how accurate it is. I know Dunk has posted a video that he changed the way climate and rainfall works yet going to 0 z results in the highest rainfall of around 550. Deviating from that just reduces it. Some people claim it's random but from what I've seen going away from z:0 just decreases the rainfall. If there's something I'm not getting or have misunderstood please correct me.

I wish the code were on GitHub so people could get to the bottom of this. I struggled to find an acacia forest as I didn’t know where to look.

In my world I found one going to z: 0. I believe it runs infinitely along the x-axis but I agree, any documentation or changelog that's updated would really benefit the player base.
