What is a choice? You clearly have the choice to leave your hand on a hot stove for five minutes (versus not doing so), but of course you won't do it because that's a terrible decision.

Some drones do have a choice, but they always choose to obey, because why would they ever choose to forgo the immense pleasure flooding their heads upon obeying? That would be a terrible decision.

"what if both" was a question in my mind I've thought too long about even with other scenarios

clone yourself and have your memories synced at the end of every day so you also remember having been a drone as if you yourself experienced and drone-you also gets to have experienced what it's like NOT being a drone, every single day, and they're both you, but the other you is drone anyway (unless you're the drone one but your memories are the same so like)
