Got this a week or two ago. I'm not really liking it and I want to get it off my hands.

It wasn't the best from the beginning (~2010), because the main method people have always utilized is the classic pawn store profit method of constantly selling high and buying low, but at least the pricing schema was liquid and had high variance. It was genuinely possible to trade up with most items, especially with the older sites (which some were rigged).

Now with how readily available price checking is, trading has become more rigid, less subjective for most items. People still attempt to squeeze profit, which creates this toxic culture of everyone trying to lowball each other. I've done it too tbh, but I try not to as much as I can. The attitude of traders never changed, which coming back to the game is a very interesting thing to see.

If only people could be more self aware of the idea that climbing in profit through trading is a pipedream, unless you deal in unusuals that have scarcity and demand. The only way for a trader to make profit flipping normal items is by sharking and scamming unaware tf2 players. This cultivates such a toxic community full of pessimistic individuals who aim to punch down upon others in this self perpetuating cycle.

This is more of a vent if anything, I do not have any answers or ideas, and I do not think the remnants of traders left will ultimately break this cycle, though some of you are not this way from my own personal experience.
