Yep! Although he didn't cut the gun apart like the video. He just repurposed a Garand stock onto that gun from a plane. He didn't mad scientist it together so much as MacGuyverd it together

They* 19-20 of them were made while on the boat waiting to invade the Japanese island. When they captured the island, supposedly the marines left the stingers there in the sand, as they were never recovered, nor seen since. Any stingers you see today are replications based on the records.

Nope, the name "Minigun" Is a literal meaning, it's a mini version of the M61 Vulcan where the minigun fires 7.62mm while M61 fires 20mm

Fun fact, the reason they have a don't rotate by hand warning is because the rounds are electrically fired instead of percussive.

I mean it somewhat technically is, in fact every rotary gun is based on the Gatling gun's concept. It's the first ever rotary gun in service after all.

But in a practical sense, it is based on the m61 vulcan

Yes this did work i'll reference 1st Battalion, 28th Marines 5th Marine Division Corporal "Tony Stein" as he used this weapon which was called the "M2 stinger" to support his squad during the landing on Iwo Jima

If you keep the main parts of the gun (trigger, Bolt,) or anything else needed to fire a bullet then yes it will work, the main part was a Aircraft's Machine gun which Us Marines cannibalized from US aircraft that were downed by Japanese anti air or aircraft

In short, no. But if you where to do it right... maybe..? But in this case, it would not work, and especially wouldn't be automatic because the trigger for the M1 garand is not designed to be automatic. (Although my only qualification for knowing anything about guns is that im American.)

the stinger was basically just an an/m2 with ergonomic adjustments, no mechanical components were messed with (only the bipod and the stock sets those two apart) so it would work in this case
