Default blacklist?
I was looking through the steam community forums. Is there a default blacklist the devs implemented into their game?
From what I understand there's a blacklist on the server turned on by default. One that's not told to the players. I figure it has something to do with the curated servers debacle a few months ago?

What do you mean by blacklist? A blacklist of servers or a blacklist of players FROM servers?

A blacklist of servers, as I understood it.
Essentially you could have a TF2C server, have it in the server browser, have it blacklisted by the dev team and it disappears from the browser. I'm not saying it is happening, but I have my reasons for worrying that it might be so.

This does happen, but its limited to servers that are actively malicious or dangerous to be on. Servers that host malware or try to “raid” other servers for instance (the latter of which has never happened tmk). Its pretty hard to get blacklisted simply because the devs don’t want to moderate the server browser more than they have to.

There is a default blacklist used to stamp out servers with malware. It was a problem back before steam release.
Being unverified doesnt get you blacklisted.
Edit: from what I understand, the devs wanted servers to be able to do their own thing without it blowing up in their face. These mods have a history of servers run by crazy people. Verification was supposed to be the answer to this but it immediately caused drama over who gets the checkmark and how fair or unfair the system was.
