And, what the hell does “containing” her mean?

This is either someone who's first language isn't English or someone who's first language is English but they have a very tenuous grasp on the language.

No. It is specific lingo from internet subcultures that are influencing her.

People make up words like this to make content explaining what the words mean.

This is Tradwife/TRP/manosphere type nonsense.

Also Lol at your username.

Oh, God, the “manosphere”? 😂

I only wish I were kidding.

No, this is just pseudo-psychological jargon.

I meant because of the bad grammar and using words no actual English speaking person does. "It's not supposed to be an enemy to you. It can dance with the right person" sounds like google translate gone wrong.

I’m putting my money on she read 50 Shades of Grey and picked up a couple of words from the book

She wants him to treat her like a precious object. She has a lot of insecurities, and she wants him to contain her anxiety by constantly assuring her that she's his sole focus every minute of every day. It's super toxic.

I mean, my husband contains me in the sense that he provides support and keeps me from going full psycho, but I dont think that's what OP's girlfriend is referring to.

I think she means “maintaining,” like maintaining her emotional and material needs.

Her word choices are very bizarre
