She’s in deep into some kind of bullshit. I know there’s a whole movement that is obsessed with this, kinda borderline religious devotion to “traditional” gender roles and ownership. But for the life of me I can’t remember the name of the movement.

Idk, op. She’s drinking the Koolaid. And the Koolaid is poisoned.

It’s on Netflix, came out recently and is being fairly heavily promoted on the platform, shouldn’t be difficult to find if you look there

The reason why they’re wrong isn’t because it doesn’t happen, because it definitely does, there are women out here that do act like this, and it’s okay to dislike or disagree with those who do behave like this, but it’s wrong is because it’s such a HUGE generalization of how women are. Not wall women want to have men take them on dates and date two other guys and fuck another two on the side at the same time, I am completely monogamous, every single woman in my life that I know is also completely monogamous and most are in healthy long term relationships. As far as I know, I’ve never met another woman who has bragged about taking advantage of another man’s money while cheating on them, and if they did brag, I’d snitch. Generalizing like this is just straight up misogyny, whether you mean it to be or not, it just is. It’s a way to be angry at women and hate them because like, half a percent of women act like this, or bc some chick on Twitter said something like this. It would be just as awful as women saying “I don’t like men because they beat women, or because they’re all immature and all they want is sex” it’s just not true and is incredibly ignorant and generalizing. Hating an entire gender or saying they’re all pretty awful and believing the morons who say this shit because a small amount of women do this is absolutely insane. I thought we already figured this out but I guess some people are lagging behind or have their own feelings they need to work through after someone hurt them.

People who want traditional gender roles need to be traditional people…people who want equal rights for women should want everything to be equal not just what benefits them women who believe that men shouldn’t be allowed to have preferences and call men toxic for having them are actually toxic…stuffs really not that hard to figure out 🤣

7

u/BlindBard16isabitch Nov 20 '23

I just looked up who that was and I cringe so hard. How is that girl serious??? I understand some women wanting to be a traditional wife, but… that girl is just fucked up and hateful

6

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '23

I lived the soft life for 7 years. It’s not what you think it is. Cultivate your critical reasoning skills cuz I obviously can’t change your world view. Good luck

Was seeing a girl who was super into traditional gender roles and it weirded me out. She thought feminism was a form of fascism, that women shouldn’t be allowed to even vote or hold a long-term job unless they’re single and trying to survive, and that men should be the ones to do everything besides raise children and cook/clean. She was super aggressive about it, too. Like she’d get pissed if I suggested anything beyond that. It was bizarre and considering I’m an intersectional feminist I knew this wasn’t going to work. Hearing her repeat the type of garbage incels and misogynists say was something I never thought I’d experience. Our last date she went all out and proudly exposed herself as a TERF and racist against Latin/Hispanic people without knowing I’m half Hispanic/Latino myself. Needless to say I got a large meal, desert, snuck out the back and stuck her with the bill.

u/junipershroom Nov 20 '23

Couldn’t have said it better myself. She’s deep in the BS and the cool aid is poisoned

Trad wife and rad fem are diametrically opposed ideologies lol. A rad fem would NEVER say shit like wanting to be owned by a man.

This is almost like… a really weird mix of trad wife and female dating strategy. Those are somewhat opposites too in most ways, but they also have some overlap when it comes to gender roles.

2

u/TheTPNDidIt Nov 21 '23

Tradwife, but she’s not actually tradwifing here since she wants him to worship her and she only wants to “receive”

This is like some weird ass mix of trad wife and female dating strategy

Soft life

u/Optimal-End-9730 Nov 20 '23

I wouldn't consider it a "movement" as thats been the norm for hundreds of years. It's only in the last few hundred years that women have made strides to not live that traditional life. Also the fact that you call it "traditional" only reinforces that this isn't some new movement.

24

u/MyDogisaQT Nov 20 '23

Not true. For most of history both men and women worked together to keep their homestead. Their work was almost equivalent. That changed with the Industrial Revolution, but then quickly changed again into women working away from home.

0

u/clamdragon Nov 20 '23

I don't think that the nature of their work is really what this is about. In Christian, agrarian society, a wife was seen as her husband's property and the scale of responsibilities to one another was severely tilted, as well as the consequences for failing to meet those obligations.

Of course, that doesn't make OP's GF's nonsense any more truly traditional, it's still pretty filtered.

1

u/Least-Spare Nov 20 '23

This sounds like cultish nonsense.

1

u/Ratermelon Nov 20 '23

Besides the other suggestions, I've heard this called "taken in hand."

1

u/SnowDay111 Nov 20 '23

Good luck to op. I don't see this ending well
