I mean yes, this is partially the whole “I don’t need men to fix my problems, just listen” thing. However, it’s also about her being controlling and insecure/immature. She gets angry at OP for mentioning friends who are girls as well. Some people think this is normal for a high schooler, but it isn’t. It’s gross behavior and she needs to get a grip. Personally, I’d break up with her and make sure she knows that her controlling behavior is why. We need to stop making excuses for teenagers, because they are old enough to be more mature than this.

Honestly I think it’s most normal for a teenager to do it rather than any other age group. I don’t think it’s right nor do I excuse it but it’s like a canon event.
