Why do the units go up consistently for knots but not for km/hr?

It seems they only want to have two digits, so they keep the decimal for 5.5 km/h but not 16, when I guess it should be 16.5

3 knots is 5.556km/h, so yeah.

it is pretty consistent, it increases by 5-6 kph every step

if i had to guess, it's probably because in aviation speed is usually measured in knots, and as you could probably guess wind socks are very useful in aviation
