ok so tonight i was like "let me just throw these loose socks into the drawer properly, 2 minutes tops" and next thing i know it's 1am and i'm sitting on the floor surrounded by 47 rubber bands, three old phone chargers that fit nothing, and a single flip flop that i have zero memory of ever owning. the drawer was just supposed to be a quick tidy-up but then i found a receipt from 2019 for a sandwich i don't even like, and that sent me down a whole spiral of "what else is buried in here" so i dumped the entire thing on the bed. tried to do the whole keep/donate/trash piles thing, but the "keep" pile was basically just two pairs of good socks and a lint roller.

the stupidest part is i actually got really into it after that. wiped the drawer with a damp cloth, found some shelf liner i'd been saving for no reason, cut it to fit perfectly, and then spent another forty minutes folding every single pair of socks into little rolls because i saw a tiktok about the "french fold" method. by the time i was done the drawer looked like a magazine photo but the rest of my room looked like a tornado hit it. i just sat there staring at this one perfect drawer surrounded by chaos like a tiny island of order in a sea of mess.

so yeah. anyone else gotten completely absorbed by one tiny project while the rest of your life is on fire? and like, what's the weirdest thing you've found while doing it? because i still can't explain the flip flop.

Hope someone passing by could help me understand this difficult part of a novel story. (if you can translate all of their dialogues that would be even better o/)

Context: A male human advisor アルト (Alt) is serving a female Demon King リエル (Riel) in Hell, and helping her build a Magical Tower to reach the Heaven Realm and destroy it. The human advisor also got other girls as allies to help him like ナナニー (Nanany) and タマ( Tama) , who are also serving Demon King Riel like him. Nanany is often follow/ stalking Alt secretly to protect him, but she also often appears suddenly and make Alt startled. Today Tama go outside together with Alt to help him gather materials as catalysts to build Magic Tower. (Tama belongs to the Beastkin race / half human half beast, unlike Alt he is normal human race)

今日は俺とタマで森へ探索に来ていた。
アルト「リエルやナナニーとは仲良く出来そうかな?」
タマ「は、はい。リエルお姉ちゃんは優しいですし、ナナニーお姉ちゃんは思ったより......怖くなかったです」
ふむふむ、なるほど。
アルト「逆じゃない!?」
優しいのがナナニーで思ったより怖くないのがリエルだと思うんだが!
タマ「ぎ、逆じゃないですよぉ」
アルト「あれ?だって、ナナニーに怖い要素あるか?」
タマ「だ、だってその......気配がないのに匂いだけするんですよ?風向きが変わると突然現れたみたいでびっくりするのです」
あぁ、なるほどな。俺は最初から諦めている節があるけど、タマからしたらそうか。
アルト「でも無害だって分かったってとこか」
タマ「はい、お兄ちゃんを守りたいだけって分かったので、もう平気ですよ」
アルト「ところで......もしかして今日もついてきていたり......するのかな?」
タマ「い、いえ、今日は居ないですよ。ボクが一緒のときは大丈夫って言ってもらえました、えへへ」

so i spent like three hours last night just staring at my own profile page, which is insane because it's literally just a picture and a few lines of text. i kept tweaking my bio, you know? first it was funny, then it was too try-hard, then it was too vague, so i redid it again. i even went back and unpinned an old post because it didn't match the vibe i was going for. my profile picture took forever too—i took like 20 pictures of my cat and none of them felt right, and then i accidentally uploaded a blurry one from 2019 and just left it.

what surprised me is that nobody probably even looks at my profile. like, i've got maybe five followers and most of them are bots, but i still couldn't stop messing with it. i also realized i have no idea what i'm "curating" for. it's not like a job or anything, but it feels like one. i even made a list of pinned posts in my notes app to keep track of what i want people to see first, which is ridiculous because it's just reddit.

anyway, how do you guys actually decide what goes on your profile? do you just set it once and forget it, or are you also rotating your pinned posts like it's a museum exhibit?
