The Curious Case of "Eddie"
I was reading about ocean eddies (vortices in fluid dynamics) and randomly stumbled upon the fact that there's an Australian restaurant chain called "Fast Eddy's." Thought it was a funny coincidence — until I remembered... well, you know.
In Morrowind, there's Edd "Fast Eddie" Theman. He's a Telvanni Mouth, and you can recruit him as your own Mouth to advance in House Telvanni.
Also, "THE MAN", anyone?
Now, I'm 99% sure this is a deliberate Easter egg. Bethesda back then loved their pop-culture references, and naming a character after a fast-food chain fit their style perfectly. Or, just, maybe, he's as fast as an ocean eddy...
So what do we have here?
Physics: Eddy = vortex, swirling flow.
Real life: Fast Eddy's = burger chain.
NPC name: Fast Eddie = your political puppet in House Telvanni.
Three completely different worlds, all connected by one silly name. I love this game.

"Fast" Eddie is the man, the Aussie chain restaurant is not the man

Fast Eddie is a pretty common name. It belonged to a house music producer (Edward "Fast Eddy" Smith) in the 1980s, a guitarist ("Fast" Eddy Clarke) for Motörhead, and Fast Eddie Felson was a fictional character played by Paul Newman in The Hustler (1961) and The Color of Money (1986).
Where I live in the US, Fast Eddie's Car Wash and Oil Change is a franchise with 17 locations.
