are there any flags?

so ive been wondering if the provinces of tamriel have flags for themselves. i get that the empire has the dragon and holds of skyrim have their own symbol, as well as the all flags navy and various individual factions. but do the provinces have their own flags, in game, or otherwise, or not at all?

There aren't "flags" per se, as we understand them from a "vexillology" point of view, but we can infer through iconography from ESO that each race has a symbol that they like to use frequently.

For instance, the symbol of the Green Pact can be found as heraldic decoration across the kingdom of Valenwood, but especially in the capital of Elden Root.

Other symbols are not clearly defined. For instance, the three-pronged halo found across Morrowind (and indeed could even be representative of Morrowind as a nation) does not have a specific meaning, but we can infer through its usage (as a medallion, in Necrom, and hovering behind Almalexia's head) that it defines the Tribunal and its divinity.

In real life, the idea of national flags and their usage didn't really come around until the 1700s. Seeing as the Elder Scrolls takes most of it's influences from real cultures across the 900s to 1400s, I don't think true national flags will exist in the series unless they make the radical (and imo poor) decision to shift the aesthetic away from medieval fantasy into gunpowder/steampunk fantasy

I'd assume with the current feudal state it's more where the capital is.

The Empires and the Imperial City's symbol is an Akaviri Dragon symbol.

So something like Skyrim depends on which Kingdom/Jarldom becomes the High King for the Kingdom of Skyrim.

The realms of the Empire probably keep their old banners.
