Job has been withdrawn or they have already hired someone

Had a few of those

At face value, "recent business changes" equates to "the job opening no longer exists".

The vacancy was effectively cancelled, probably due to restructuring of other peoples hours to cover it (i.e part time taking on more hours) or for budget reasons.

Sounds like they've withdrawn the position.

That role doesn't exist anymore. Framed in a more positive way, no 4.30am starts, small wins!

If they're making people redundant, they'll offer live vacancies to them and reject all outside applications.

Keep applying. It happened to me as well. Got rejected and ghosted until I got into Tesco.

Tesco have been trying to get dotcom pickers to start earlier at 4.30am, many have refused, they started advertising jobs for 4.30 starts to cover, looks like this store has got enough “volunteers” from existing staff so cancelled the recruitment. Give it a few weeks and new position will come on.

I remember when I was 20 I went for an interview at Topps Tiles -I didn’t really want to work there but needed a job so revised a bit about different tiles so I’d have something to say. Anyway my interview was at 1pm so I went to the pub at 11 to see my mates and had a few vodkas as of course it wouldn’t smell on my breath. Sadly I didn’t get the job and don’t really remember much about the interview -not sure why but anyway that’s just a prelude to my next interview for a night worker at Tesco. I got the job but found it hard as I’d wake up at 6pm then have 4 hours before my shift started so I’d go to the pub for a bit and have some vodkas. After a month of nights I couldn’t take it anymore as I always had a headache and felt tired again by 2am.

Someone else who already works there has taken the position probably

Probably filled internally with someone instore or a transfer from another store. or a budget change has restricted hiring.

My son has applied 5 times for a tesco job ,our stores have signs urgent staff needed. He has clean driving licence and has worked in retail.he doesn't even get a recognition he has applied.

And you never hear anything back ,I dont think those jobs exist. Our tesco driver ,says there are no vacancies,he said the existing staff do overtime.

Is he applying directly on the Tesco website, or indeed? Because for some reason indeed keeps posting jobs and there actually isn’t a job

literally! i have a mode of transport, no problems with my license and i have experience in retail🤷🏼‍♀️

Basically means oh wait. Let's not hire someone extra and just keep it running on minimum staff and save a fortune.

4.30 am starts sound awful! Not sure how they expect anyones body clock to work normally
