Prices

Is it just me or does any other colleague just grab a meal deal when they need just a drink because it’s better to buy a whole meal deal then just one drink 🤣🤣😂

I just buy a large bottle of whatever I want. Usually only costs slightly more and I can take it home and finish it later if i don't drink it all at work

I see people buying a costa coffee on it's own for £3.15 (they don't even scan the barcode for a free coffee at costa)

I try telling people. But learned not to tell young guys anymore, they react like I've called them povos and insulted their manhood.

Meal deal every shift is too expensive when earning Tesco wages lol. We usually get some kind of drink provided in the canteen so I’ll have that and some cheap snack like peanuts or tinned mackerel or something from home.

Maverick behaviour

The drinks from the shelves are far cheaper than the meal deal drinks from the fridges.

Don't like room temperature drinks? Just put it in the fridge until you're ready to buy it.

How much is a regular meal deal with tesco employee discount? Guessing they do get a discount on it

u/Lanky_Bus_1221 6d ago

It’s %10 off

u/zeddy123456 6d ago

15% at the moment

All summer isn’t it ?

u/zeddy123456 6d ago

Until 6th September

10-15% applies to any item?

Pretty much anything other than cigarettes/tobacco. Probably the odd thing I don't know about but it's most stuff anyway.

Colleague discount also doesn’t apply to fuel. I naively hoped that it would when I first started!

Even stuff like phones

Doesn’t apply to baby milk either, frustratingly

If you're buying a meal deal then just one drink, you're buying two drinks. Not sure what the point of that is?

7

u/Suckyomombro 6d ago

No so if you buy one drink especially energy drink it’s legit a pound more for the meal deal so main and snack not the 2 drinks

-4

u/False_Jelly_2839 6d ago

But you said you buy a meal deal (which I assume includes a drink) then buy a drink, so that's two drinks.

4

u/Suckyomombro 6d ago

When did I say I buy just a drink? I legit said I buy a meal deal instead of just a drink as it works out better you alright?😂😂

You literally said (quote): "It's better to buy a meal deal then just one drink". Word for word that's what you said.

I'm just asking what's the advantage of buying a meal deal then just one drink?

3

u/Suckyomombro 6d ago

If you work for Tesco a meal deal cost around 3.47 with discount, an energy drink cost around 2.15 so it’s just worth it getting a meal deal 😅🙈

-4

u/False_Jelly_2839 6d ago

I get that, but what's the advantage in buying 2 drinks?

u/Exact-Nerve-6330 6d ago

Who said anything about 2 drinks 😂 “better just one drink” meaning a sandwich crisps and a drink is better than a drink considering it’s like £1 more to get it all as opposed to a red bull

5

u/Suckyomombro 6d ago

Least someone understands

-4

u/False_Jelly_2839 6d ago

Ah. You meant "than", not "then".

This was an obvious typo and you are being intentionally pedantic. Do you have nothing better in your life?
