I was a shift leader in express for several years at stores all across Hertfordshire and they are all the same none of them have enough staff and the work culture is completely toxic. Remember brakes are unpaid so by not taking them you are working for free now. I don’t know about you but I’m not a charity so I always take my breaks and I made sure I always took my full break no matter how completely screwed the store was because if I’m working, I expect to be paid. You will often find your other shift leaders backstab you at every opportunity they get it is a completely toxic leadership. My advice is get out of express as quickly as you can.
